Cremyll Keelboat’s mighty undertaking…

Cremyll Keelboat’s mighty undertaking of restoring the historic Tamar Sailing Barge “Lynher” is about to come to fruition, as the boat is relaunched this Sunday 7th May from Mashfords boat yard, Cremyll.

The barge, dated 1896, is planned to eventually offer sailing trips, history and cultural tours along the river and estuary, sail boat training, school trips/floating classroom, overnight accommodation, and private hire.

The restoration has largely been funded by Heritage Lottery Fund, and has received support through the Engine Room programme throughout the start-up phase, with business planning, CIC registration, and product development.

The initial season will start this summer (likely from August), with further restoration planned over winter and then expansion of the offer in season 2, from April 2018.
