Surplus for Purpose is a bespoke training programme, designed to support staff and volunteers working in the
VCSE sector to think and behave more entrepreneurially. If you are an SME based in Cornwall & The Isles of Scilly,
operating within the VCSE sector you may be eligible for this FREE training.
Budgets are under pressure, products & services need re-thinking and you are being tasked with generating new income. How are you going to do it, where do you begin, how do you make sure that it’s in the best interests of your beneficiaries and that it delivers social impact?
In these challenging times, you need to take pioneering steps to up-skill your staff to succeed in this new environment, one in which you need to be enterprising, innovative & ultimately more commercial about how you do things – all whilst maintaining your authenticity as a provider of social value.
Designed and delivered by leading social enterprise RIO – the Real Ideas Organisation, Surplus for Purpose can be fully tailored to the needs of your organisation. The programme will equip staff with the tools they need to identify opportunities, make a strong business case, and most importantly, will ensure they understand how to approach things in a socially enterprising way.
This programme has been designed specifically for forward thinking third sector organisations, local authorities, schools and the public sector, and has been developed with input from the national body for social enterprise, SEUK. Opportunities for accredited CPD also exist through our Academy status with IOEE.
Eligible organisations will be:

The Isles of Scilly
